Director Marcelo Lombardero has presented the program for the 2025 season of the National Opera Company of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature. This season will address works related to abuse and patriarchal violence, in addition to commemorating important anniversaries.

The season started with sold-out performances on February 2 with the symphony "Romeo and Juliet" by Hector Berlioz. Subsequently, "A King Listens" by Luciano Berio will premiere on July 1, 3, and 6, celebrating the centenary of the Italian composer. In September, two galas will be held, and on June 8, tenor Arturo Chacón Cruz will celebrate his 25 years of career with a special gala.

The program includes other notable works such as "Madama Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini, "Elektra" by Richard Strauss, and "The Legend of Rudel" by Ricardo Castro. A gala dedicated to composer Francesco Paolo Tosti will be presented by Javier Camarena and Ángel Rodríguez, along with performances of works like "Rigoletto" by Giuseppe Verdi and "The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini.

Proposals for children include "The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and "Ícaro" by Melesio Morales. Additionally, performances will be held at the Lunario of the National Auditorium to bring opera to new children's audiences.

The Compagnia Finzi Pasca from Switzerland will bring the theatrical performance "Ícaro" to the Teatro de la Ciudad "Esperanza Iris" on February 5, 6, and 7. This play, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, has been performed in different countries and languages, capturing the audience's attention for more than three decades.

The season will focus on national and international artistic quality for culturally relevant productions and will seek to generate reflections among viewers on various topics through opera.
